2026 Fall Sustainable Ranching Workshop & Field Trip: Building Resilience

Join the Southwest Montana Sagebrush Partnership for the 2026 Fall Sustainable Ranching Workshop & Field Trip on October 14–15, 2026, focused on the theme “Building Resilience.”

The free two-day event will explore practical approaches to improving soil health, riparian health, and rangeland health, productivity, and resilience. Presentations on October 14 will be held at the University of Montana Western in Dillon, followed by a field trip on October 15 to a large BLM allotment west of Twin Bridges.

The workshop will feature presentations on the connections between human health and soil health, strategies for improving land health and productivity, and new tools and technologies for implementing adaptive grazing systems. Ranchers participating in the Adaptive Grazing Project will also share their experiences putting adaptive grazing practices into action in Southwest Montana.

On the evening of October 14, attendees can also join the Good Food Network for a screening of Groundswell at the historic Depot Theatre.

Registration is free, but required so organizers can plan for seating and lunch. All are welcome to attend, and we encourage you to share this event with others who may be interested.
