Anabella Miller

Anabella is a biologist passionate about conserving New Mexico’s wildlife, stunning landscapes, and people’s connection to the land. Having grown up in northern New Mexico, she learned about stewardship from both an ecological and cultural perspective through everyday interactions in her backyard and with her community.

She has a Master of Science in Natural Sciences from New Mexico Highlands University where she studied northern leopard frogs in a fire-impacted watershed. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from NMHU where she had the opportunity to assist in projects studying puma diets, snapping turtle distribution, grasshopper communities, and boreal toad populations.

Prior to joining WLA, she worked with an organization in northern New Mexico that engaged youth in low-tech process-based approaches to watershed restoration while providing hands-on environmental education.

Anabella enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends, doing genealogical research, reading, gardening, and spending time outside with her dogs.
