Thomas Plank
Communications Coordinator for Colorado River Basin
Thomas is Western Landowners Alliance’s Communications Coordinator for Colorado River Basin water issues. Before joining WLA, Thomas was the communications manager at Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, where he helped direct policy and advocacy communications, marketing, and provided support to chapters in 50 states and two Canadian provinces. A former local newspaper journalist in Montana and Idaho, Thomas’s career has been focused on providing support and value to local communities. The importance of high-quality land stewardship was imprinted upon him at an early age growing up in Denver, Colorado, where he spent time camping, hiking, and fishing, and seeing the importance of caring for lands and waters. He holds a Master’s Degree in Communications and Bachelor’s with Honors in American Studies and English from Stanford University.
Thomas lives in Missoula, Montana where spends much of his free time fly fishing, sewing, writing, and cooking from recipes out of his ever-growing cookbook collection.
