Christina Wernikowski

West-wide grazing lands communications associate

Missoula, Montana

As the West-wide grazing lands communications associate, Christina creates and shares relevant information on stewardship practices of grazing lands. Witnessing first hand how quickly the Western landscape is changing has left her wanting to find a way to help preserve habitat for people and animals. For the last decade, she worked in luxury eco-tourism on a 6,600 acre guest ranch in Philipsburg, Montana, where cows outnumber people and local relationships enriched experiences. The pristine nature and conservation of this property was always at the forefront of conversations and the decision-making process.

Christina holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Montana in photojournalism and is a firm believer in collaboration and listening. Coming together to work shoulder to shoulder creates better solutions for a common goal and is how we will sustain the beauty of the American West. Fascinated by the interconnectivity of the natural world, she enjoys foraging for mushrooms, berries and squishing moss along the trail on her hikes with her dog Pinto Bean.
