Be a Steward of the West: Support Land, Wildlife & Communities Today

Keep the heart of the West beating strong.

By supporting Western Landowners Alliance, you’re conserving the landscapes, wildlife, and livelihoods that define the American West. Your gift fuels the three ways we advance our mission: stewardship, policy, and communication.

Your gift provides landowners with practical stewardship tools and knowledge, equiping them to reduce conflicts with wildlife, manage grazing and soil health, care for water resources, and practice adaptive land management.

Your partnership helps Western Landowners Alliance advance practical policies that support resilient land stewardship and address conservation challenges at a broader scale, complementing practical, on-the-ground solutions to the complex work of managing working lands and wildlife.

By supporting Western Landowners Alliance, you strengthen a network of conservation-minded land stewards, amplifying solutions that benefit wildlife, communities, and future generations, and fostering a lasting legacy of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Together, we keep the West open, whole, and healthy—a place where people, wildlife, and working lands can flourish.

All members receive On Land

On Land - The magazine of the Western Landowners Alliance

If we are to recover the American West to health and abundance, we need a new story about our relationship to land, rooted in an ethic of stewardship. On Land brings forth that story clearly and beautifully, in the voices of the people who are living it, at the leading edge of a future that puts people and nature together again for the benefit of both. If you appreciate the magazine and our work, we recommend (but don't require) a gift of at least $30/yr, to support the vital storytelling in On Land. You can also purchase additional copies of each beautiful 9x11" full color issue to share with friends and neighbors.

Landowners that prioritize the long-term care of the natural resources they steward should rejoice that the Western Landowners Alliance exists and is out there fighting for them.

We are taking ourselves too seriously if we think we own it... maybe the land owns us. Maybe instead of a deed it should be a license, like a marriage license, where we can continue as long as we are nurturing each other.

As a rancher, I’ve learned that conservation and ranching are not mutually exclusive pursuits. In fact, to do either well, you have to do them together.
