Legal Ledger Brief: ASI/NCBA awarded grazing grant
The American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) were granted more than $200,000 in Farm Bill funding to develop movement decision criteria for sheep and cattle grazing public land allotments during a potential foreign animal disease outbreak.
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service funding will allow collaboration between agencies, states and partners such as the Public Lands Council. The project is expected to take two years to complete and will better prepare producers who graze public lands in the event of a foreign animal disease outbreak.
