New Mexico Landowners State Meeting
Western Landowners Alliance (WLA) is pleased to announce its first annual New Mexico State Landowners meeting, October 4-5 in Santa Fe, NM. A series of three events will provide opportunities to meet other landowners, celebrate land conservation in New Mexico, and participate in sessions designed to give landowners a voice on water, energy, economic and wildlife policies relevant to private and leased public lands.
Western Landowners Alliance invites landowners and managers to learn effective policy engagement strategies in a special education event led by George Cooper, Senior VP of Forbes-Tate public policy consultants. Policies and programs at local, state and federal levels have a direct impact on private land management, and landowners can have more influence over water management, energy development, taxation, economic incentives, wildlife management, and more. Learn how to engage effectively with the right people, at the right time, with the right information to influence policy outcomes at the legislative and administrative levels.
Landowners have a vested interest in water resource allocation, planning for energy development, tax policies, state and federal wildlife management, and developing ecosystem services markets. Working together, landowners can help shape many of these policies to ensure our lands will be healthy and economically sustainable for current and future generations. Join WLA, fellow New Mexico land owners/managers, and conservation partners to discuss these issues and help prioritize WLA’s work in New Mexico. A primary focus will be on water-related issues and policy.
RSVP to one or both events.
