Montana FWP Habitat Conservation Lease Program Webinar
A habitat conservation lease is a voluntary, incentive-based agreement between FWP and private landowners in which the landowner commits to retaining wildlife habitat in exchange for a one-time per-acre fee for a 30 or 40-year lease. Lease values are based on 15% of fee value for a 30-year lease and 20% of fee value plus a 5% bonus for a 40-year lease. Prices range between $85-$1021/acre and vary depending upon habitat type.
