Range Riding Workshop – Eastern Oregon

Do you operate in an area with wolves or other large carnivores? Are you concerned about conflicts? Join for a day of conversations and learning alongside local livestock producers and agency representatives focused on applications of range riding and significant new cost-sharing opportunities for the practice.
Together with compensation, control, and collaboration, expanding access to range riding is an important piece of the puzzle for supporting resilient ranches, rural communities and connected landscapes.
When: October 18-19
Where: Eastern Oregon University, La Grande, Oregon (Directions provided after registration.)
Day 1: Day 1 will center on thoughts from landowners and range riders on how the practice fits in their operations and group discussion on how to design effective range rider programs. There will also be presentations by USDA-NRCS on new cost-sharing opportunities and information on new nonlethal tools and technologies (e.g., virtual fencing and drones). Hot meals provided. No limit on number of attendees.

Day 2: Day 2 offers a full day of professional wildlife track and sign training provided by Cyber Tracker North America focused on the range rider skillset at no cost to participants. Snacks provided. Only 14 spots available, first come first serve.
