Grand Junction: A Conversation over Beers about the New Era of Conservation
July 27, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm MDT
On Tuesday, July 27th at Kannah Creek Brewing Co. in Grand Junction, Western Landowners Alliance CEO Lesli Allison will be discussing the need to bridge our urban and rural divide in order to achieve greater conservation of the West, illustrating the role our private lands play in securing a future for all of us.
“In Southwest Colorado, agriculture and conservation are increasingly two sides of the same coin. Surely, water, wolves, wildfires and invasive species are examples of the challenges we face, but the issue is bigger, broader,” explained Allison. “Political leaders are calling this ‘a new era of conservation,’ but sometimes it feels like we’re coming apart more than we’re coming together. Bridging the urban/rural divide has never been more important as we seek landowner-supported solutions. The very future of the West is at stake.”
The public is invited to join for refreshments and a thought-provoking conversation and discussion about the future of the land we love – from cities to farms and ranches to wilderness – in Grand Junction, in Colorado, and throughout the West.
