Critical Habitat Management Portal Online
A new tool for landowners is now available from the Resources First Foundation.
“The Critical Habitat Management Portal (CHMP) is designed to help private landowners manage candidate, threatened, and endangered species on their land by providing information on the species, the conservation measures needed to restore and conserve its habitat, and the professionals, organizations, and programs that can provide financial and technical assistance to implement the desired conservation practices.
The United States Fish and Wildlife Service will be reviewing hundreds of species over the next decade to determine if it is necessary to provide them with protection under the Endangered Species Act. Unlike listing decisions in the past, many of the species that will undergo review reside mostly on private land.”
