SUMMARY:Surface Water Conservation Programs: What Are They\, and Are They Working?
DESCRIPTION:The sixth webinar of WLA’s 2025 Water Webinar series will examine the successes and challenges of compensated water conservation programs. We’ll take a deep dive into what these programs mean for landowners and water users\, and what opportunities might exist for finding common-ground solutions for addressing western water shortages within the guardrails of voluntary\, temporary\, compensated reduction in consumptive water use programs. \nJoin us to learn more about how these programs work\, what they mean for landowners and water users\, and how they could play a role in sustaining working lands and watersheds.

SUMMARY:SLO County Agriculture Programs 101
DESCRIPTION:The NRCS and RCDs of San Luis Obispo County\, in collaboration with SLO County Farm Bureau\, are organizing our annual Local Work Group meeting and invite you to join us. This year’s theme is “SLO County Agriculture Programs 101” and we will be highlighting all of the FREE services and programs offered by agricultural organizations throughout the county. The meeting will be hosted at the SLO County Farm Bureau offices on Wednesday\, July 9th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. \nBy bringing together agricultural producers and supporting organizations we hope to achieve two goals: share resources and information with producers so that they understand the programs and support that are available to help; and gather feedback from producers so that our programs and services reflect the needs of our local community. \nWould you like to join us in this opportunity to connect with producers and mutually support agricultural conservation in our community? \nLunch and refreshments will be provided\, but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

SUMMARY:There's an App for That! Top tools for management & monitoring
DESCRIPTION:July 10\, 2025\nWebinar to begin at Noon MDT\n‘Open Range’ networking session at 1PM MDT \nBuilding resilience and profitability into land management hinges on nimble and knowledgeable adaptive management\, which in turn requires accurate\, timely\, and affordable monitoring. Until recently\, monitoring has been a case of “fast\, good\, affordable: pick any two.” But can we now get all three at once\, given recent advances in remote sensing\, satellite imagery\, and networking? Join the discussion on July 10 to hear how award-winning landowners are blending emerging technologies\, time-tested techniques\, and information sharing to improve outcomes on both the land and the balance sheet. Come ready with your questions\, experiences\, and ideas to share in the ‘Open Range’ discussion that follows the producer roundtable.

SUMMARY:Grassland CRP Explained -Leasing Your Land for Habitat and Conservation
DESCRIPTION:Leasing Your Land for Habitat and Conservation: Grassland CRP Explained  \nJoin the Western Landowners Alliance and national experts for a practical webinar on the Grassland Conservation Reserve Program (CRP)—a voluntary USDA program that helps landowners conserve rangelands while keeping them in production.  \nManaged by the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA)\, Grassland CRP provides annual rental payments and cost-share assistance to producers who steward grasslands—including rangeland\, pastureland\, and critical wildlife habitat—while maintaining the ability to graze and hay. Producers receive income that supports long-term stewardship\, with contracts based on NRCS-approved grazing management plans. Cost-share is available for water infrastructure\, fencing\, and other practices that improve land health.  Rental rates are calculated at 75% of local cash rents\, ensuring meaningful economic support alongside conservation goals.  \nWhether you’re a ranch manager\, landowner\, or conservation partner\, this is your chance to get expert insights on how Grassland CRP can support working lands\, wildlife habitat\, and long-term stewardship goals. \nAlthough the 2025 signup window has not yet been announced\, this webinar will prepare you for the opportunity by covering:  \n\nWho qualifies for Grassland CRP \n\n\nHow to apply and what’s required \n\n\nHow rental rates are determined \n\n\nWhat landowners can expect during and after enrollment \n\nFeatured Speakers:  \n\nPatrick Lewis\, Acting Grassland CRP Program Manager\, USDA FSA \n\n\nShaleas Harrison\, Policy Manager\, Western Landowners Alliance \n\n\nLandowner Speaker TBA
