SUMMARY:Ranch Managers Guild - Carbon Markets & Working Lands
DESCRIPTION:This call will feature manager-led case studies on ranches and forestlands participating in carbon credit programs. Managers will share firsthand experiences evaluating\, enrolling in\, and managing carbon projects across both grassland and forest systems\, including what opportunities and tradeoffs they’ve encountered along the way. Managers will discuss how carbon markets fit into broader operational and stewardship goals\, as well as the realities of contracts\, monitoring requirements\, and long-term commitments. \nDiscussion questions may include:What led you to explore carbon markets or carbon credit programs? How did you evaluate whether a carbon project was a good fit for your operation? What have implementation\, monitoring\, and reporting requirements looked like in practice? What economic benefits\, costs\, or tradeoffs have you experienced? How have carbon program requirements affected day-to-day management decisions? What questions should landowners ask before signing a contract? \nParticipation is reserved for active members of the Ranch Managers Guild. Not signed up yet? You can sign up here today.
